Volvo cars soon after revealing the XC90 has unveiled the images of R-Design version of all new XC90. Both standard and R-Design will be displayed at Paris Motor Show. Build on the same bespoke Scalable Premium Architecture platform, R-Design version adds more to the sporty character of SUV that already appears aggressive and dynamic.
Alain Visser, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Sales & Customer Service of Volvo Car Group, stated that, “R-Design is created for the people with passion for things that adds spice to life”. “It attracts to the customers that love active drive and personal, expressive design. Every single R-Design detail is designed to the contribution of individualistic and revised expression these customers desire”.
The automaker already retailed 1927 Volvo XC90 that was on sales on online medium. The first batch of Volvo XC90 was sold in just 47 hours. According to manufacturer most of sales came from UK as the customers reserved in total of 55 cars that will be delivered by April, 2015. The exterior is offered with a number of distinguishing details like front spoiler, grille, silk metal window surround, silver matt mirror covers, integrated silver roof rails and integrated dual exhausts.
While inside the cabin, R-Design version has Nubuck and perforated leather upholstery on the gearshift paddles, gearshift knob and steering wheel. Special R-Design detailing can also be found on the seats, floor mats, pedals and illuminated tread plates. Driver also has an exclusive R-Design leather key remote control. The tablet like touch screen in centre and 12.3 inch fully graphical display is also included in R-Design model.
Alain Visser, stated that, “In principle, we have replaced previous top level with Inscription and R-Design versions. Both of them have an elevated content, carefully opted to emphasise of their distinctive individual personalities”.
